Welcome to Tennessee Museum of Aviation

Tennessee Museum of Aviation

The Tennessee Museum of Aviation is a “living” museum and iconinc Smoky Mountain attractionfeaturing airworthy war birds; meaning their exhibits and aircraft change frequently – so every time you come to Pigeon Forge, your visit to the Air Museum will be a new experience. The Tennessee Museum of Aviation attraction also gives your family the opportunity to reminisce with veterans who willingly share their memories and experiences.

With the Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge Airport (GKT) located just outside the Tennessee Museum of Aviation’s hanger door, it makes it possible for visitors to actually see aviation history come to life when the perfectly restored vintage aircraft start up their powerful engines and throttle for take-off.

The Tennessee Museum of Aviation is said to be the only place in the country to house two of the less than a dozen WWII surviving airworthy P-47 Thunderbolts. Also a number of vintage aircraft stop by the museum for a visit, making repeat visits to the Tennessee Museum of Aviation a more interesting experience.

The venue is also available to host your next reunion, aircraft or automobile club meeting, business meeting, company picnic or children’s birthday party.  The Tennessee Museum of Aviation also gives group tours.
