We are So Happy You are Considering Visiting The Smokies Great To See You Are Planning Ahead Smart Move, Successful Vacations Begin With A Plan

Everyone who’s ever visited Sevier County knows that even on the worst days, the people are friendly, there’s always something fun to do, and there’s lots of great food to be found.  If you’re on your second or third trip to the area, you may be ready to try out a few of our favorite out-of-the-way restaurants—you know, those that are a little bit off the beaten path but well worth the time and the drive.  So, we’ve picked our top five Pigeon Forge restaurants for a quick shout-out.  These should cover meals for at least a couple of days the next time you’re in the Forge.  Try them out and let us know if you agree that these gems deserve a little more notoriety.

Sawyer’s Farmhouse

On the map in Sevier County since July, 2014, Sawyer’s Farmhouse has quickly become a favorite among locals and tourists alike.  Known for a great breakfast selection, favorites among visitors include Belgium Waffles, crepes, and pancakes topped with hot, homemade syrups.  Breakfast is served all day.  Lunch offerings at Sawyer’s include burgers, salads, and a range of sandwiches to suit even the pickiest eaters.

With rave reviews and a comfortable and inviting down-home, farm-kitchen atmosphere, Sawyer’s is a must the next time you’re in Pigeon Forge.

Friendly Falls

Friendly Falls was opened by the owners of a past Sevierville favorite, McClaren’s restaurant, and is located on a beautiful stretch of Wear’s Valley Road.  All seating is outdoors, but covered, and the open-air restaurant faces a gorgeous grouping of small waterfalls set picturesquely into the hillside behind Friendly’s.  Occasional live music, and a warm, hospitable staff make Friendly Falls a great place to eat and relax, while great, Americana food offerings like burgers and barbeque round out the menu.

Friendly Falls is also a wonderful venue for weddings, family reunions, and receptions, and even offers some fun activities like gem mining for the smaller members of your crew.  Stay and play, or shop their craft boutique—or, if you wish, just sit next to the water’s edge and unwind.  Whatever you decide, we promise you’ll love Friendly Falls and all it has to offer.

Elvira’s Café

Elvira’s Café can be found on the drive through Wear’s Valley (turn at Stop Light #3 in Pigeon Forge). Not only is the setting gorgeous, the food is exceptional. There’s almost always immediate seating and parking is plentiful at Elvira’s. You’ll taste a little native Russian flair (Elvira herself is from Siberia but decided not so long ago to make Tennessee home) in Elvira’s fare, but there’s also plenty of good, Southern cooking to be had. In fact, it’s because of Elvira’s distinct love for Tennessee, it’s people, and its food, that she insists on only the freshest products and puts quality into everything she serves.  You won’t regret a trip to the table at Elvira’s.

Smokies Cuban Café

Smokies Cuban Café is known for a family-friendly atmosphere and great food and drink.  Located with plenty of access to local shopping, and even offering up a bike rack for customers, Smokies Cuban Café is highly ranked by visitors and beloved by locals with a taste for flavorful dishes and authentic Cuban cuisine.  Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, SCC brings Cuban favorites to the Smoky Mountains with flair and surprisingly reasonable prices.  A great spot to gather with friends and family, and certainly a gem when it comes to their menu, Smokies Cuban Café is a must-visit whenever you’re in the Forge.

Hillbilly’s Restaurant

Another Wear’s Valley favorite, Hillbilly’s Restaurant is known for its hot, cinnamon biscuits and large portions of all things wonderful for breakfast.  At the center of the hustle and bustle that makes Hillbilly’s what it is, is an old pick-up truck covered with the names of past visitors to Hillbilly’s—you’ll want to grab a marker and sign it before you leave as hundreds and hundreds of others have before you.  Located just about 8 miles from the strip in Pigeon Forge, Hillbilly’s is easy to find and worth the short drive for great breakfast food and lunch fare with a personality-rich setting that will have you returning again and again.
